MUMBAI: Shalmali Kholgade has established herself as one of the leading playback singers of India. Over the years she has tried her hands at different genres of musical singing, but there is something that still remains untouched for this remarkable artiste. Well it is the independent music scene.
Thus, the singer is now all set to explore the independent music scene. In fact, she has already shot a music video and if all goes well, it will release sometime soon.
“Because of this MTV ‘Angels of Rock’ (a road trip show that she is a part of) I have started feeling more confident about writing my own music,” said the ‘Pareshaan’ singer.

Shalmali’s first single will be a hip-hop and trap number. “I have already shot my music video in the leisure period. It is going to be my directorial debut as I have directed the music video and I will also feature in the same.”
However, the ‘Balam Pichkari’ singer still awaits the right opportunity to release her debut single. “I just finished the shooting and I have the music video at my home now (smiles), I am just waiting for the best label to release it. As soon as I get the right label onboard, it will be out,” said the singer who is extremely excited about releasing the single.
She further added, “I am in love with the song and I will happily say that, ‘I am so proud of myself’ post its release.”
Shalmali intends to build herself as a performer and artist who composes her own music rather than just being a Bollywood playback singer. This single is a step forward.
