MUMBAI: After SFM’s Pune launch in July this year, parent company Sun TV Network Ltd announced the launch of its new station in Siliguri on 28 October.
The station – on air on 93.5 MHz — will be youthful and have a local flavour, said SFM project head Nisha Narayanan told Radioandmusic.com. “The focus will be on regional content. We will be playing a lot of Bengali, Nepali and Hindi music,… she said. Considering that a majority of the people living in the region speak Bengali or Nepali, guess this decision was a no-brainer.
SFM plans to create an aware about the station by way of outdoor campaigns and contests by giving away gold and silver coins. S FM has been practising this marketing strategy in most of their launches. So, does it make for a good marketing strategy?
