MUMBAI: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Green Day has inked a deal with SESAC (The Society of European Stage Authors and Composers) who will now represent the American punk band.
The three-member band consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool, will have SESAC to handle their performance royalties. US-based performance rights organisation already has names like Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, RUSH, Charli XCX (PRS), Disclosure (PRS), Zac Brown, Mumford & Sons (PRS), Lady Antebellum, The Avett Brothers, Shirley Caesar, Paul Shaffer and Thompson Square among others under them.
Along with selling 75 million records and giving hits songs like ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams,’ ‘American Idiot,’ ‘Know Your Enemy,’ and ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends,’ the American band has given some iconic tours across the globe which have been documented as well.

The band said that the association is “exciting” and will be “the next phase” of their musical adventure.
SESAC chairman and CEO John Josephson said, “Green Day is an iconic band that has created important, diverse and unforgettable records. Billie Joe, Mike and Tre are phenomenal songwriters and musicians whose influence on the musical landscape is immeasurable. We are thrilled and humbled to welcome them to the SESAC family.”
In April this year, the ‘American Idiot’ famed band was inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of fame. There was also news of the band working on their 12th studio album, however, dates of its release is not known.
