MUMBAI: Retro station Big FM takes a spiritual turn by introducing a new look of their morning show ‘Seher’ with Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota. The show will air bhajans of upcoming talents and will try to spread positivity amongst its listeners.
Along with interviews of various artistes, he will be promoting their music on-air. First few episodes will be Diwali special and will focus around the history behind the festival. His latest solo album on Dilwali penned by Kiran Mishra, will also be promoted on the show.
The show will be launched as a part of Diwali surprise by Big FM. Speaking to Radioandmusic.com, Jalota said, “It is a very interesting experience for me because I am enjoying the show and the format. I strongly believe in the idea of living a positive life and through the show I have tried my best to spread the same message.”

He further added, “In the morning, you feel fresh and clean; and when you listen to a program like ‘Seher’ playing spiritual messages through interviews and songs, it helps to spread the positive energy among the people you meet and interact.”
He hopes that the show will be an opportunity for many to listen to music that is peaceful and enjoy Panchang on daily basis. “I hope that people make ‘Seher’ a habit,” he further added.
His association with radio started with All India Radio (AIR) as he worked with AIR and Akashvani, Mumbai for two years. Jalota said, “I love radio and my association with the medium has been a strong one.”
The show was launched in the presence of Ghazal singer Talat Aziz, who also provided him with tips that are essential on radio.
He will be seen hosting the show from Monday to Friday, from 5-7am.
After radio, the next milestone for the bhajan singer will be hosting a similar format show on television.
‘We love you Jagjit’ is Jalota’s upcoming album and will feature eight other singers. He will be playing at Washington DC for Diwali as part of his upcoming gigs in abroad.
