MUMBAI: Post Hardcore band Scribe, who recently released its third album ‘Hail Mogambo’, has announced a massive change to its line-up. The band’s lead vocalist and perhaps most recognised face, Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy, will no longer be part of the outfit. The band’s vocal duties will now be shared by and one of the independent music scene’s most popular faces- Siddharth Basrur (Goddess Gagged vocalist), and Viraaj Saxena (Midhaven drummer).
The Mumbai-based band posted a note to its Facebook page stating the change it was currently going through. The note titled ‘Malhotra has left the building’ says, “Evolution is inevitable and that is the truth. From ‘Have Hard. Will Core.’ to ‘confect.’ to ‘Breadcrumbs’ to ‘Mark of Teja’ and at our present juncture titled ‘Hail Mogambo’, we’ve seen each other grow. Personally as well as professionally.”
It went on, “So, to cut to the chase, our vocalist Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy aka Malhotra will not be present to close the decade and begin the next one. He is going on an exile into other creative projects that are unable to co-exist with the band.

Fortunately for Scribe’s fans, the changes will not affect any upcoming performances or album plans. The band confirmed that its current album tour and other plans will stay on track. Scribe’s last performance was at the Bangalore edition of Bacardi NH7 Weekender, on 8 November. It will next be seen performing at the Harley Rock Riders on Sunday 16 November, but it is not yet sure who will be leading the vocals.
