MUMBAI: “Ek Main Ek Tu”, the debut album of Saregamapa winners Aishwariya and Ujjaini was launched by Saregama India Ltd on Zee TV`s Saregamapa Challenge 2007 Semi-final episode on 28 August 2007.
The album was released by singer Hariharan and Ismail Darbar (one of the judges on the show). The music of this album has been composed by Harpreet and Satish Ajay; and the lyrics have been penned by Nafees Alam and Harpreet.
Ujjaini and Aishwarya, the winning couple of the first “Ek Main Aur Ek Tu” musical competition on Zee TV had won by a margin of 10,000 votes over rival singing couple Sharib – Banjyotsana at the finals held on 23 June 2006 in Dubai`s Airport Expo Indoor Stadium. This album was launched on the same stage which made them the winners and was released in the presence of the current Saregamapa Challenge 2007 finalists who are fighting for the title. The album consists of seven tracks of which five are original compositions and two songs are from movies ?“ Jurm and Yarana.
The album is a compilation of romantic songs sung by the duo, and includes a club remix of one of their songs. `Ek Main Aur Ek Tu` which includes the two all time romantic numbers ?“ Jab Koi Baat from Jurm and Chooh Kar Mere Mann Ko ?“ Yarana sung by the duo. Says Saregama Vice President A & R, Publishing and New Media Atul Churamani, “Saregama has always encouraged new fresh talent in the music industry. Both of them Ashwariya and Ujjaini are marvelous singers and come from a stage that since years has given exceptional talent to the industry.”
