MUMBAI: Expanding its footprints further into the devotional category, Saregama has acquired live streaming rights for Mumbai’s most famous Ganpati mandal, Lalbaugcha Raja.
The company will provide live feed from the mandal including the aarti, festivities, celebrity visits and more across the web, youtube, IPTV and DTH platforms. The digital vertical of the music label will stream the different events from the mandal live around the world throughout the 11 days of the festival.
Speaking to Radioandmusic.com Saregama India business head-music Adarsh Gupta said, “There are a lot of people in various areas who want to access and reach out to the deity but cannot, our move is aimed at providing live darshan to people. Using the web based tools to market the property, we have already started garnering a very positive response on our internet platforms. Based on the feedback, we will decide on going ahead with the property next year.”
Saregama Digital VP Madhusudhan said, “Saregama’s name has always been synonymous in the devotional category because of the richness and depth of content acquired & developed over the years. Now keeping with our tradition we have acquired the exclusive rights to live streaming of the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati festivities on the Web/DTH & IPTV platforms. The content would include the live stream of the aarti; festivities; celebrity interactions etc. We also will have catch up options of the best of the previous day.”
