MUMBAI: Sony Music Entertainment and FIFA have revealed the official anthem for this year’s FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Brazil. The track, titled ‘Dar um Jeito’ (We Will Find A Way), will be performed by Carlos Santana, Avicii, Wyclef and Alexander Pires at the closing ceremony of the World Cup on 13 July in Rio de Janeiro.
‘Dar um Jeito’ (We Will Find A Way) is the fourth addition to the official music programme for the tournament. It will be part of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Album, along with previously announced tracks that include the Official Song by Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull and Claudia Leitte and the SuperSong winning track which is yet to be recorded by Ricky Martin. The album will also feature the Official Mascot Song by Brazilian singer Arlindo Cruz, which released in 2012.
Marketing Director for FIFA Thierry Weil stated that it was great to see one more remarkable group of artistes contribute to this World Cup’s official music programme. “IFA and Sony have been working hard in developing an album that brings the sounds of Brazil to life through a variety of creative tracks. Santana, Wyclef, Avicii and Alexandre Pires are true musical icons and I am thrilled they will be part of the 2014 FIFA World Cup closing ceremony,” he said.

Talking about his involvement, guitar legend Santana said, “It is an honour to take part in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and have “Dar um Jeito (We Will Find A Way”) selected as the Anthem. Along with my brothers, Wyclef, Avicii and Alexandre Pires, we look forward to performing the song in Rio de Janeiro in July and sharing this message of light and hope on the FIFA World Cup stage.”
The track ‘Dar um Jeito’ (We Will Find A Way) will be produced by a team which includes Ash Pournori, a two-time Grammy nominee. Speaking about the track, Pournori, who is executive producer and manager for Swedish DJ Avicii, said, “In Portuguese Dar Um Jeito means to find a way around obstacles and impossibilities. With this track, we wanted to send a message of optimism and opportunity with the music and the words.”
The 2014 FIFA World Cup will kick-off on 12 June and end on 13 July.
