Samved’s ‘Kama Unit’ has been picked as a single for free download from the iTunes Store. Personally, one might wonder what the entire hullabaloo is about. People are always downloading music for free. But when a platform like iTunes, which builds its revenue through downloads, makes a song available for free and that too by a new band, one definitely has to feel intrigued. I decided to review the song exactly for that same reason – what is so great about this song? Well, I heard it and this is what I felt. Brilliant vocals, young and hip sound, current electronic sound connect and completely global.
The vocalist Zeeshan Khan gives this song a five star. No other vocalist in the current young lot with such a strong classical base could have done justice to this song like Zeeshan has. The alaaps and classical bols fit beautifully with the electronic sound with a subtle bass in the background giving it the right lift. It is definitely worth a listen and worth adding the song to your playlist.
