MUMBAI: Samsung Electronic Co is seeking legal permit to temporarily ban iPhone 4S sales in Japan and Australia, accusing Apple Inc for violating its mobile and user interface patents.
Samsung stated that they had filed papers for preliminary injunctions in the Tokyo District Court and in the New South Wales Registry, Australia. The company has also asked the Japanese court to stop the sales of iPhone 4 and iPad 2 devices, along with iPhone 4S in France and Italy as part of a legal tussle across 10 countries.
In a statement Samsung said, Apple has continued to violate our patent rights and free ride on our technology. We will no longer stand idly by and will steadfastly protect our intellectual property….
IPhone 4S went on sale in markets last week, including Japan and Australia.
