MUMBAI: Handset provider Samsung Electronics that deals in semiconductors, telecommunication, digital media and digital convergence technologies strengthens its Smartphone portfolio with the launch of Affordable Smartphone… duo – Galaxy 3 and Galaxy 5 in the Indian market Both the phones are based on the Android v2.1 platform.
The key common features and applications of Galaxy 3 and Galaxy 5 include Layar Reality Browse that enables the user to do real-time route calculation with this application while they are travelling and also discover places around them.
It also boasts of Social Hub which is a feature that integrates e-mails, contacts, messages and social networks in your phonebook and helps users enjoy full integration of their Google, and Facebook calendars. Also, Google Mobile Services provides an easy access to the all Google services like Gmail, Gtalk, Google Search and Google Maps. Further there over 60,000 apps on the Android market which the consumers can choose from.
An application called Swype technology allows users to type message with one continuous finger motion across the screen keyboard making text inputs faster and easier. In addition, both enjoy powerful connectivity through Allshare through which users can share multimedia content between devices like the mobile and the PC as well as the TV. The phones can also function as TV QWERTY remote.

The Samsung Galaxy 3 (15801) is endowed with preinstalled ThinkFree Office Mobile which lets the user create, view and edit word documents, spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations. The phone also has wi-fi connectivity, 3G HSDPA with speeds up to 7.2 mbps, 3.5 mm Ear jack, FM radio and A-GPS. The 90 MB internal of the phone memory is further upgradeable to 16GB.
