MUMBAI: After the success of the Bhojpuri season of the reality show Sur Sangram, Gajendra Singh’s production house Saibaba Telefilms Pvt. Ltd is gearing up for the Bengali edition of the show. The show will be aired on Mahua Bangla

Singer Alka Yagnik and music-composer Bappi Lahri will be the judges of the show which will be hosted by Sa Re Ga Ma Pa winner Debojit Saha
Talking to radioandmusic.com, Saha confirmed his role as the host for the Bengali leg
The judges have already conducted the auditions and shortlisted 18 singers from the cities of Silliguri, Malda, Krishna Nagar, Asansol, Medinapur, Kolkatta, Delhi and Mumbai. These contestants had to go through vigorous training for eight weeks and combine various genres of music to be selected by the music-maestros.
The winner of the contest will get prize money of Rs 5.1 million apart from getting an opportunity for playback singing as announced by Mahua channel.
Apart from launching the Bangla edition, the production house is also coming up with a new season of the already existing Bhojpuri edition which will be telecast on Mahua channel.
The production house has roped in renowned faces including Malini Awasthi, Kalpana and Ravi Kissen to judge the Bangla edition. Bhojpuri actor-singer, Manoj Tiwari will be the host for this season.
