MUMBAI: Surpassing Taylor Swift, R&B singer Rihanna is leading the MTV Europe Music Awards nomination with six nods. The awards will be held on 11 November in Frankfurt’s Festhalle.
The R&B singer has been shortlisted for Best song (We Found Love), Best female, Best pop, Best video (We Found Love), Biggest fans and Best look category. Swift has received five nominations for Best Live, Best World Stage, Best Look, Best pop and Best female act. While popstar Justin Bieber and Katy Perry have tied up on third place with four nods each.
Last year winner Lady Gaga has rounded up with three nods for best live act, video (Marry the Night) and biggest fans category. A host of other artistes like Lana Del Rey, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z and Kanye West also earned three nominations each. Other artistes to win nominations include Carly Rae Jepsen, Calvin Harris, Gotye, Pitbull feat Chris Brown, Janelle Monáe, Flo Rida, No Doubt, Green Day, Muse, Nas, Rick Ross, Jack White, The Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine, Lana Del Rey, PSY and M.I.A.
