RDB singer Kuly Ral passes away

MUMBAI: Kuly Ral, singer of popular Brit-Asian hip-hop bhangra group RDB(Rhythm Dhol Bass), passed away on Tuesday.

Kuly, along with his brothers — Manj and Surj — formed the hip-hop bhangra group RDB and has worked with superstars such as rapper Snoop Dogg, and Bollywood star, Akshay Kumar.  The group has delivered myriad chartbuster including recent release Yamla Pagla Deewana and Sadi Gali from the movie Tanu Weds Manu.

Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Just heard about Kuly from RDB`s sudden demise. Still reeling from the shock of the news. RIP.”

The trio performed religious songs and played the harmonium in the Gurudwara at a young age.

In 2003, RDB won ‘Best Club DJ Bhangra’ at UK Asian Music Awards and has also received Brampton Walk of Fame.
