MUMBAI: After serving the radio industry for over six years, Rana Barua has forayed into advertising with agency Law & Kenneth. He is appointed as the chief operating officer and will look after the south and west operations.
In his new role, Barua will be based in Mumbai and will report to Law & Kenneth India CEO and managing partner Anil Nair. He will be responsible for handling the operations of the agency in its west and south regions.
Speaking on his appointment Barua said, “I was clear that my stint with radio was getting limited with expansion plans miles away. And my understanding and exposure to the ever evolving media space over the last six years made me realize that my expertise would come in best with the changing Indian advertising and communication solutions environment. Undoubtedly Law and Kenneth is one of the fastest growing agencies which is a true believer of building brands in the country and my mandate is to be a catalyst and a partner in this growth.”
Besides Barua, Law & Kenneth has made some senior level appointments to strengthen its management team. The company has also appointed Amardeep Singh as chief creative officer and Samir Datar as senior VP strategic planning.
Commenting on the appointments, Nair said, “Keeping our next phase of growth in mind, the appointments were on cards for a long time. I am sure the new members will help take the agency to new highs.”
Prior to this appointment, Barua was COO at Red FM for two years. With over 17 years of experience, he has worked on global and local brands in agencies like Ogilvy, McCann and Y&R.
While Barua and Singh have already joined the agency, Datar is expected to begin from 20 August.
