MUMBAI: After mesmerizing his hometown Chennai, A.R Rahman will perform at the GMR Arena, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Complex in Hyderabad 24 October, 2009.
Like all his other concerts, this too will be a charity concert. The net proceeds from the Hyderabad concert will be donated to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for providing assistance to flood victims.
Addressing the press conference, AR Rahman said, “Hyderabad is very special for me and I am quite excited to be performing here. I and my team are honored that the Jai Ho Concert will be the first, inaugural event to be held in the newly created GMR Arena. We hope that this will mark a new beginning of many more such events that will entertain the people of Hyderabad.”

Adding a unique flavor in Jai Ho concert will be an ensemble of talented playback singers and renowned musicians performing along with A R Rahman including Sivamani, Chitra, Blaaze, Benny Dayal, Sadhana Sargam, Rashid Ali, Shweta Pandit and Neeti Mohan among others.
The concert is managed and marketed by Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt Ltd. in Hyderabad.
On this occasion, Wizcraft International Director Sabbas Joseph said, “The event will be an evening of grandeur and will bedazzle Hyderabad with Rahman’s presence and performance. The tickets, which went on sale early this month, are priced at Rs. 25,000, Rs. 12,500, Rs. 7,500, Rs. 4,000, Rs. 2,500, Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 500. The Rs. 25,000 tickets are with an exclusive cocktail lounge pre-show and plush sofa seating at the venue; with service on call through the show, getting you refreshments and juices from the renowned Novotel Hyderabad Airport Hotel next to the venue and of course the once in a lifetime experience of seeing A R Rahman live in concert. The Rs. 12,500 bracket has similar benefits but excludes the cocktail lounge.
