MUMBAI: After a series of concerts in India, and most recently in Australia, A R Rahman will now be heading to North America as a part of his A.R. Rahman Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour
The North American leg of the tour is slated to begin on June 11 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y., with dates booked through July 3 performance at the Toyota Center in Houston.
For this massive international tour, Rahman is leaving no stone unturned. It is reported that Rahman is collaborating with creative director Amy Tinkham and make it both visually and aurally appealing to his international fans.

A well known director/choreographer, Amy Tinkhan is part of McDonald Selznick Associates (MSA) who represent some of the finest stage directors and production designers in the business. MSA has so far executed some of the top grossing tours of all time, including Madonna’s 2008 Sticky & Sweet Tour (the highest grossing tour by a female artist in history), Celine Dion’s Taking Chances Tour, Cher’s Living Proof Farewell Tour, Michael Jackson’s HIStory Tour, Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/Love Show, and Paul McCartney’s Driving Tour.
According to reports, Rahman’s concert in North America will be a theatrical experience with dance and acrobatics. However, at its core its going to be Indian. The show will feature changing sets, large images on LED screens and a spectacular cast of musicians and dancers from across the globe.
The surprises don’t end here. The Journey Home World Tour, will also feature tracks that Rahman was working on with the late Michael Jackson before his tragic death. In addition to songs from Slumdog Millionaire, fans will also be treated to his bollywood hits from Lagaan, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Dil Se, Rang DeBasanti and Roja.
The concert series will be produced by Deepak Gattani, and will travel to over twenty international arenas including The Forum in Los Angeles, The Patriot Center in Washington, D.C., American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas and Wembley Arena and the O2 Arena in London.
