MUMBAI: Post its official release on 9th June 2014, music maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s latest album `Back 2 Love’ has already set the pace and is in line to become the most successful non-film album of 2014.
Released on major record label Universal Music, the albums’ lead video ‘Zaroori Tha’, featuring television’s couple Gauhar Khan and Kushal Tandon has crossed the coveted 1.3 million views mark on Vevo/YouTube within just five days of its release. While it is not uncommon for `film’ music videos to achieve these numbers, Khan’s song has turned out to be one of the fastest non-film music videos to hit the one million mark in recent times.
The album has raged into the music scene, topping both retail and digital charts. It peaked at number one on both, the iTunes India Pop charts and the Nokia Music charts. On the overall iTunes India Album charts, which is usually dominated by Bollywood soundtracks, it peaked at number three the day of release.

Khan is a renowned and respected artiste/composer all around the world. In the past, he has collaborated with personalities like Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam vocalist) and James Horner (American composer). His vocals were also featured on the soundtrack of Mel Gibson’s ‘Apocalypto’ in 2011.
