MUMBAI: After consolidating its position at number two in the Pune market, Radio One has increased its ad rates by 30 per cent with an aim to build up on positioning.
The move comes as a result of the 20 per cent year-on-year growth that the station claims to have achieved in Pune, even as radio spends in the city have grown by five per cent of the media buys in the last 10 years.
Radio One Pune station head Sabina Sanghvi said, “Four years after our launch, we have decided to up our rates by 30 per cent. Clients who have been served well by the station understand the value of what we bring to the table, and have been supportive of our stance. We want to consolidate and grow our position in this city. We will continue to play maximum music, have interaction with our listeners and give them a lot more entertainment this year.”
The station states that IT, telecom, automobile and real estate sectors are its top advertisers on Radio One. It has been reaching out to the 18-34 age group since its launch, with the listener profile comprising of young professionals from the KPO, BPO, education and IT fraternity.
Apart from undertaking initiatives like Play Your Music Day and airing concerts of renowned artistes, the station will also launch a host of new programs including ‘Music Healers’ which will be a CSR activity wherein the channel will identify listeners who want to heal the city through music.
