Every day challenge
Every day is new day for me. Everything changes every night because I try offering my listeners a life beyond fatigue. Every day I start my day long before the evening show. Through my show, I want to entertain and relax my listeners with a selection of songs and conversation. I think up various concepts before going on-air. For instance, ‘Urdu ki paathshala’ is where I explain the meaning of words used in various tracks. There at times, I do not know the meaning of some words. For that I am dependent on my father who helps me out.

There is segment called, ‘Meri Diary Ka Ek Page’, it is not about what happens every day but a though or idea in my head. Then there is the ‘Song of the day’, the track that is stuck in people’s head which is then played. Every Friday is a movie night on radio. The blockbuster films of yesteryears are presented along with the songs.
Songs of today’s era and of Golden Era
There is a vast difference in today’s songs and those of an era that is called Golden Era. I showcase the Golden Era of the old times, but I also consider the best music of today’s time a golden era. In today’s time, lyrics do not play a pivotal role. Today, people can enjoy great music but not good lyrics. I am glad there were soundtracks like the one in the film ‘Rockstar;’ it has awesome music and lyrics. I enjoyed the lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil.
I believe that every generation has a certain pace for the music. Bollywood’s music of the Golden Era has innocence because if its music, lyrics and it is a complete package. In today’s time, there is not much or say the variety of music. The music played today will not be evergreen. It will be heard by many and it might become popular, but will not be remembered after few years. We do not remember songs from 20001 and 2002, so it is less likely we will remember these tracks
