Radio Mirchi unveils talent hunt for singers

MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi has brought in a new reality segment titled “Singers ka Dhamaal Sana ki Taal’ in its channel driver talk show Khoobsurat. RJ Sana will continue to host this bit as well.

The section will witness singers from varied reality shows along with talent from different backgrounds. From engineers, teachers to students, the participants will be heard trying their hand at singing. Listners will get to hear tracks from movies and telly serials along with instrumental jamming. The show will also encourage participants to talk about their music idols and their journey in Mumbai. This idea germinated from a one-off contest held a while ago by RJ Sana herself. The overwhelming response for the same inspired the station to etch out a full-fledged segment.

Says RJ Sana, “We have a lot of untapped and undiscovered talent languishing in our city. We plan to give them a platform through which they can manifest their talent. They will express their emotions and we will let them have their share of fame.” Listeners would be heard humming numbers crooned by some of the recently discovered popular singers like Abhijeet Sawant, Rahul Vaidya, Prajakta Shukre and Hamza.

Sources confirm that this talent segment will be a two-hour daily which will go on for a month. After finishing the talent scouting, five contestants would be selected and judged by some prominent music directors from the industry.

While common people are being put on auction like kingpins, let’s see if this new start of reality shows on radio sings in the station’s favour.
