MUMBAI: After a stint of two years, Radio Mirchi sr vice-president, cluster head north Sachin Tagra has quit the organization. His last working day was Monday 22 April.
Confirming the news with Radioandmusic.com, Tagra says, “ The journey at Mirchi was very fruitful and interesting. I was very happy to work there. I had joined Mirchi to leverage my skills and now I am going back from where I had started.”
Tagra is foraying into retail away from the radio and entertainment business. Refusing to divulge more details, he says “I have joined a new start-up that’s into retail analytics but cannot reveal the name before the formal announcement.”
Tagra joined ENIL, Times Group in June 2011. Prior to this he was with Reliance Retail as asst vice-president, category head FMCG NF.
With over 12 years of experience, he has also worked at The Friedman Group and Merisant India.
Radio Mirchi vice-president, cluster head east Vivek Modi has replaced Tagra. Confirming the appointment, Modi says, “Yes I am taking over from Mr. Tagra but the formal designation and announcement is yet to be made.” He will be looking after the stations in the NCR region that includes Delhi, Jalandhar and Jaipur.
Modi joined Mirchi in August 2011, handling the stations of Kolkata and Patna. “Radio Mirchi has been a fantastic journey. I come from a telecom background and Mirchi has been a good learning experience. Radio Mirchi Kolkata has left its competitors way behind and is performing really very well, ” he adds.
A few names are shortlisted for Modi’s replacement but nothing has been finalized.
Moreover, Shamik Talukder has also quit Radio Mirchi. He was senior vice-president & business head IPR & sponsorships. Radioandmusic chooses to remain tight lipped on his replacement.
Prior to this appointment, Talukder was SVP & national activations head at Mirchi.
With over 17 years of experience, he has worked across television, radio, outdoor and internet with companies like VIA OOH, Times OOH, Sony Entertainment Television, Indya.com, Star TV, Mid Day Group and The Times of India.
In 2001-04, he worked with Mirchi as sales head, north.
Adding to the developments, Radio Mirchi ( ENIL) VP , corporate strategy & digital Sarvmeet Singh Oberoi has also been re-designated. He says, “I would like to wait for the formal announcement from Mirchi before making any confirmations.” Oberoi has been with ENIL for over eight years now.
