MUMBAI: If you happen to be in Lucknow and you come across people discussing the various issues of the city over tea and snacks, do not be surprised. This could very well become an every morning scene in Lucknow with Radio City introducing its latest show ‘Chai Pe Charcha’.
The show premiered on-air today, (2 November, 2015) and will touch upon some serious issues faced by the people of Lucknow. However, the discussion will not be limited to just sharing these issues. Radio City has brought onboard a new RJ- Shiv, who will be reaching out to concerned authorities to help find solutions to the city’s problems.
RJ Shiv started his journey as an intern at a radio station in Delhi, and later moved to Red FM, Jaipur. There he worked as a content creator until he bagged the Radio City offer. ‘Chai Pe Charcha’ is his first show as a Radio Jockey, and he is completely looking forward to it. “I really feel on top of the world,” he said.

For the next two days, RJ Shiv will be meeting locals at tea shops to discuss various issues- a drill that was carried out on the first day of the show – for which the response was overwhelming to both, Radio City and RJ Shiv. “We had around 100 people discussing issues that they face in the city over tea. One of the most talked about issues was the increasing traffic,” stated the RJ. These issues will also be discussed in the studio over tea in the coming days.
Furthermore, RJ Shiv will also try bringing out stories of common people, who are working hard to bring some change in the city. “There is a man called ‘Pedwale Baba’ (Manish Tiwari) who has been planting trees across the city since 1995. We will have people like him come and share their experiences,” he added.
Apart from this, the team at Radio City is still working on other aspects of the show.
‘Chai Pe Charcha’ will air every morning at 7 am.
