MUMBAI: In the field of regional cinema, Tamil film industry is growing at a rapid speed, attracting fans around the globe. To cheer up the hard work and keep them motivated, Radio City announced Radio City Cine Awards to facilitate the regional film fraternity in the country.
Radio City Cine Awards 2017 aims to empower listeners to recognize and celebrate the efforts of artists and technicians. Radio City Cine Awards 2017 Tamil, a listener choice award on radio will give a transparent access to the listeners to cast their vote and support for their favourite Tamil stars of the Kollywood industry.
The awards do not have a panellist in place but the authority is given to the audience. The nominees will be determined and crowned winners based on public voting which will be available on-air, SMS and social media handles like Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.

The categories nominated are Favourite Actor, Favourite Actress, Favourite Director, Favourite Lyrics, Favourite Music Composer, Favourite Singer male, Favourite Singer female, Favourite Comedian, Favourite Cinematographer and Favourite Movie
Voting for nomination starts from 24 July and public voting to choose their favourite stars will begin from 31 July across platforms. This will culminate into a grand award night on air where first time ever the winners will be announced and felicitated.
