Radio City introduces æRaghu Charit ManasÆ – modern avatar of Ramayana

MUMBAI: On the occasion of Diwali, Radio City has introduced a new property â€?Raghu Charit Manas’ across its stations in Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Baroda, Ahmedabad, Surat, Pune, Ahmednagar, Akola, Jalgaon, Nanded, Sholapur and Sangli. The segment will be aired till 23 October.

â€?Raghu Charit Manas’ has 12 different capsules and captures the essence of age-old epic, giving listeners a perspective on the morals propagated by the Ramayana. Here, Ram has become Raghu, a major in the army and Sita has become Siya, a Harvard graduate. The inspiration behind the initiative is to showcase the fact that ancient trials and tribulations of power, lust, money and greed exist even till today.

Elaborating further on this initiative Radio City 91.1 FM national programming director Kartik Kalla said, â€?Raghu Charit Manas is a contemporary adaptation of the Ramayana. With this version, our listeners will find that they can in fact relate their day-to-day battles to ancient wars. I’m sure our listeners will be glad to have such a unique representation of the Ramayana at the click of their radio dial….
