MUMBAI: Radio City Hyderabad’s hunt for the Fun Jockey ended on 12 July, with the title of ‘Navvula Don’ awarded to Asif who won the contest and became the first Fun Jockey of the radio station.
Shiva Reddy and Telugu superstar Madhushalini judged the grand finale of the contest. The finale was hosted by RJ Vamsee and RJ Akira. The audience witness their favourite Fun Jockeys performing live at the City Center Mall.
Radio City had organised the month long ‘Navvula Don’ – a hunt to zero in on the wittiest Telugu Fun Jockey in the city of Hyderabad with his sense of humour.
The first round ‘Anna, Yemantave?’ assessed the participant’s flair as stand up comedians. This round was immediately followed by a joke session, titled ‘Navvua Navvula Caption Inkem Nadvadu’, in this round the contestants had to entertain the audience with a series of non-stop jokes.
In the third round, ‘Hah! Kanti Chooputho Navvista’ shortlisted only four contenders cracking jokes for the audience.Two teams were formed where the teams were given a situation and a role and asked to enact extempore. The final round ‘Nuvvu Nenu Judges’ comprised of the final two contenders responding to three questions posed by the judges, in the wittiest and the funniest way.
Commenting on the activity, Radio City executive vice-president national head – programming and marketing Rana Barua said, “With Radio City ‘Navvula Don’, we started off the hunt for a Fun Jockey for Hyderabad, who gives a refreshing take on humour. Today, Hyderabad has chosen its ‘Navvula Don’ and we are proud to present Asif – Hyderabad’s first ever Fun Jockey. We are thankful to the Judges for stepping forth to help us find our Fun J from the five finalists. We thank Hyderabad for the tremendous response and support to Navvula Don and promise to present more such clutter-breaking and entertaining initiatives for Hyderabad Radio Cityzens.”
