Radio City gets into festive spirit across stations

MUMBAI: Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi in its unique style, Radio City has introduced special initiatives across its western and southern India stations.

In Mumbai, the network is back with its ‘Dekho Visarjan Aasman Se’ initiative with Vodafone, where listeners will get the opportunity to watch the Ganpati Visarjan live from a helicopter flying above the Arabian Sea. RadioCity RJs have selected contestants from the Vodafone customers who downloaded a ‘Ganesha’ caller tune on their device. The RJs are now asking the chosen contestants a question whose right answer will fetch the lucky winners the chance to win the helicopter ride on 29 September.

The station has also organised an activity ‘City Cha Sukhkarta’ in its Pune channel till 29 September, giving its listeners the opportunity to sing ‘Ganesh Aarti’ live on-air. The best singer will receive a pass to perform the aarti at the famous‘Kasba Ganapati’ temple in the city. The RJs will also be broadcasting the show live from the famous Dagdusheth Halwai temple giving updates on the festivities.

In cities like Ahmednagar, Solapur and Sangli, the jocks along with the finalists of the station’s ongoing hunt ‘Super Singer’ will visit the listener’s homes and sing the ‘Ganesh Aarti’ unplugged on-air.

Apart from Maharashtra, Radio City has also initiated a unique activity ‘RJ Ganesha’ in Bangalore. Lord Ganesh in the avatar of an RJ will tour the city till 23 September giving away gifts and blessings to its listeners.
