MUMBAI: California based music collective Psychology Project, has just come up with a new single Lost in Paris. The new single is the brainchild of Sai Shankar and Agul Kaul. The band also has Tushar Agrawal and Sudeip Ghosh as a team member.
Speaking of the sound of the band they said, “The sound of the band is an amalgamation of influences from the hard rock, metal, alternative/indie to traditional Indian music.”
The band is constantly working to get better and wants to make music that can reach the mass. Taking about the same they said, “We are continuing to experiment and evolve its sound. We strongly believe in making music that can reach a wide audience and not just bracket our self to a particular thing. People who have heard our music know that we have a signature sound.”

Lost in Paris is a new single of their self-titled album which happened while they were messing around with different chord progressions and the tune that came up and stuck with them. The band added, “The main tune was written in less than five minutes. In the process, we were mimicking our good friend and neighbour (who happened to be French) in good jest. This eventually led to writing about Paris.”
Band also stated about the song saying, “The song Lost in Paris is about finding yourself and not giving up. The city is a muse and the protagonist in the backdrop of the city is finding her identity. It’s her journey.”
Rapper VJ has collaborated with the band on the track. Meghna and Sanika collaborated to put the vision together with their words.
When asked about the global and the Indian music in the present scenario they said, “There is hundreds of music releasing every day. These are exciting times to explore new music and avenues to get heard. In the context of India, it is incredible how miniaturization of a recording studio and social media have opened up so many avenues for artists to express themselves and be heard. We think it is an exciting time for music in India.”
The band is also open to collaborations: “We are music collective and we keep an open door policy to work with a variety of musicians and song writers. This will keep the music fresh and you keep evolving with time.”
