MUMBAI: It is very disturbing to see that in recent times many reports by leading publications and news channels across the country are proven false. A very current one would be actor Ranbir Kapoor’s appreciation for talented composer Pritam.
On Sunday, it was reported by news dailies and websites that ‘Kapoor who has attained a pin-up status of rock musician in the country feels that the music of his upcoming film Barfi is even better than his previous release Rockstar.’
The story said: “Ranbir sent a text message to Pritam, who has composed the music for the film, about how much he has liked his work. In fact, he also told Pritam that the music for this film is even better than Rockstar’s music by AR Rahman.”
When Radioandmusic.com contacted Pritam to congratulate him for Barfi’s music, he said, “I would like to tell the media that the whole story and comment part is bogus. From my end, I haven’t received any such message from Ranbir Kapoor and its just a rumour.”
Earlier, it was also reported that the actor had also sent SMSes to other members of music department, including singers and arrangers to complement them on their efforts.
Well, false reporting is media’s inefficiency or kind of promotion by film makers to create buzz remains a question?
The album consists of eight songs including singers like Mohit Chauhan, Swanand Kirkire, Papon, Sunidhi Chauhan, Rekha Bhardwaj amongst others.
The upcoming Indian romantic comedy film directed by Anurag Basu stars Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz in lead roles. It is expected to be released on 14 September 2012.
