Oscar fever on Chennai Live

MUMBAI: The Oscars are considered the biggest stage in the world, and with over 50 million people tuning in every year to watch the event, Chennai Live 104.8 FM is busy spreading the Oscar â€?cheer’ for its film-loving listeners before the gala 83rd Annual Academy Awards that will take place on February 27.  From Oscar trivia capsules being played throughout the station to Oscar features, Chennai Live 104.8 FM is giving its listeners a daily dose of interesting Oscars content.

On the breakfast show Live Talk, RJ Edel Devanesan shares the most memorable Oscar acceptance speeches till date. From the emotional speech by Russell Crowe to the witty reaction of Cuba Goody Jr. after receiving their Oscars, the awards ceremony is widely known for emotional outbursts of the stars who win the prized golden statue. This year’s Oscar nominations explore a wide range of subjects  such as the evolution of Facebook in The Social Network, taking imagination to a new level in Inception and capturing the complexities of a young ballet dancer in Black Swan. Giving exciting tidbits on the Oscar fever is well-known film critic from The New Indian Express, Baradwaj Rangan, who talks about the line-up of the movies this year and gives his take on the nominations.
