MUMBAI: Four months ago, when actress-model Nisha Rawal uploaded her first cover video – ‘Tu Bin Bataye – Yellow – Imagine’ on YouTube, one did not take her too seriously as a singer.
But, one and a half months later, she released another cover song titled ‘Choti Si Asha Revisited’. Exactly a month after her second release, she went on to publish her third cover ‘Jeena Jeena’. By this time, one knew that the actress was taking singing a bit seriously. However, it was the release of ‘Meherbani’ cover — early this month – that made Rawal’s singing aspirations clear.
At the moment, the singer wants to continue with covers as she is confident about recreating the songs that she is familiar with. As far as the undiscovered territory of music is concerned, she says she would step into it only when she is confident.

If Rawal is to be believed, it’s not too long till she discovers music from within. “The switch from singing covers to creating a single might happen soon. The temptation is increasing with every passing day,” admitted the singer.
However, before she creates singles, there is a lot for her to discover in the music space. “I still do not know which genre of music I would like to focus on. In this little time that I have devoted to music, I’ve figured that I like pop, romantic and soft music. But, there is a lot more for me to discover. Therefore, at the moment I am just concentrating on my riyaaz,” said Rawal.
There may be a lot for this upcoming singer to discover on the music front but she is very sure about continuing with the same. “I have never been this sure in my entire life. I definitely want to sing. But I need to learn a lot more before I go behind the mike,” confessed she.
Lastly, the singer told Radioandmusic.com: “My long term dream is to do lots of live shows. I would want to put all my musical learning’s in the live space.”
