MUMBAI: Like any other artist pop star Nikitaa has several musical influences, and is known for songs like “Clutch”, “Honest”, “Exodus” and “Vichhoda yaar da” revelas people who have impacted her the career the most it has been “my mother, my brother, my producer Mukund Komanduri and Mr. Daboo Malik” she said.
“My mother and my brother were responsible for my consistent exposure to 60’s – 70’s Bollywood music, and Rock, Pop, RnB & Hip Hop respectively. These are genres that formed my musical sensibilities and artistic soundscape today”, Nikitaa told radioandmusic.com
She has lent her vocals and lyrics for Grammy award winning producer RedOne, platinum-selling producer Russel Steedle, which garnered attention from Atlantic and Capitol Records. This singer-songwriter steps up on the plate to bring a South-Asian twist on the genre, creating space for people largely underrepresented.

Her producer Mukund is the one person who understands her vision of blending these influences from my childhood and has co-created all my English music with me and has helped me achieve this she acknowledges. “He understands what I want in a very unique way and never puts any limits on my songwriting, my production ideas or suggestions when we are working on music in the studio”.
Further, Nikitaa said, Daboo Malik believed and worked with her when no one had even heard of her in the industry, “we recorded and released my first Punjabi single ‘Vichoda Yaar Da’ last year. He consistently encourages me to follow through with my vision and execute. His faith in me is extremely inspiring and grounding”.
