MUMBAI: Nihira Joshi Deshpande a reality show contestant has rendered her vocals for the films like ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ and ‘Salaam-E- Ishq’. The singer is on cloud nine as she has rendered her vocals for ‘Sajde’ and ‘Baaware’ from the film ‘Kill Dil’. The music is composed by the Shankar Ehsaan Loy and the movie is slated to release on 14 November, 2014.
“I am extremely lucky to have a couple of songs on the film ‘Kill Dil’. I have had a very long association with the music composer trio and suddenly called me up to sing the first track ‘Baawra’, which is a heart break song,” said Deshpande to Radioandmusic.com. Shankar Mahadevan has also rendered his vocals for the song. She has recorded a few jingles for the composer trio and also works as a teacher at the Shankar Mahadevan Music Academy.
Talking about the brief given to her by the composer trio the songstress said, “Since the song is basically about heartbreak, the male vocals are about him being sad with the breakup and his world coming to an end. I act as a ray of hope as I console the protagonist that the world is not over.”

It was after recording ‘Baawre’ Shankar Mahadevan asked her to record ‘Sajde’. Arijit Singh had already recorded the song by then. ”I was just asked to follow Arijit Singh’s voice as he had already recorded the song,” she said. When asked which of the two songs does he like more, he instantly replied, “Both the songs are close to my heart, but personally ‘Baawre’ is the kind of a song that I would love to song more.”
The songstress does not forget to thank all her gurus and makes sure that she devotes enough time for her riyaaz despite having a two month old daughter. When asked how she juggles her maternal and professional duties, she said, “This is where my family chips in. Whenever I am doing my riyaaz they look after the little one. My family members are extremely supportive infact they were happier than me when they got to know that I have a couple of songs in ‘Kill Dil’. Also most of the time my husband accompanies me to the recordings,” concluded Deshpande.
