NDTV & Kyra co-host music fest in Bangalore

MUMBAI: NDTV Lumi?¨re and Kyra, a restaurant and performance space will come together to give Bangalore audience a session of the best in World Cinema along with live performances by bands through their newest  initiative â€?Music & Movies’.

The show which starts on 24th August will provide movie lovers with an opportunity to watch music based films followed by a band performance based on the theme of the film. The initiative will take place every fourth Monday of the month at 8.00 pm and the screenings are free and open to all.

Announcing the initiative with Carlsberg, NDTV Lumiere Business Head Dhruvank Vaidya said As we continue to enhance the unique experiences that we offer our viewers, we present to you Music & Movies  Here we will showcase our best music themed feature films followed by live band performances based on the theme of the film  This is a very unique property where the movie sets the tempo which is then carried forward by the live performance  I am sure that Bangalore audiences will love this new concept  NDTV Lumiere is happy to partner with Kyra to bring this new form of entertainment to Bangalore. The â€?Music & Movies’ property will soon be taken to other cities as well.

â€?Music & Movies’ will commemorate its launch with the screening of â€?I’m Not There’ a movie on the life of legendary musician Bob Dylan. Directed by Todd Haynes, the movie is a Hollywood biopic, exploding the literal-minded, anti-intellectual assumptions that guide even the most admiring cinematic explorations of the artistes live.

Following the screening, Bridge a six piece Rock n Roll band from Bangalore, will entertain the audiences as they perform Bob Dylan covers.

Talking about their association with NDTV Lumi?¨re, Kyra chairperson Dipali Sikand said, At Kyra our endeavour is to bring to Bangalore a place where the lovers of performance arts and connoisseurs of fine food converge. That’s why we have a fine dining restaurant where the cuisine traces the ancient spice route as well as a world-class performance venue open to everyone from bands to theatre across genres, every single day. It’s quite a heady combination…
