MUMBAI: It’s time to get into your dance shoes and say a haalo! because it is Navratri time. On this special occasion, we at Radioandmusic contacted Pinky the one-half of the famous Navratri stars Preeti-Pinky to learn more about her plans this festive season.
The duo that is known for singing famous Bollywood numbers like Piya Piya, Maine Koi Jaadu Nahi Kiya is all set to rock the Garba scene of the year.
This year the sisters will be performing at Kutchi Ground in Borivali in Mumbai. “Mumbai is a very different than any other city. Here you always see a cultural mix at the festival. Everyone comes to play Garba. Keeping in mind, their choices, we perform on different language songs like Marathi, Gujarati, Hindi etc, which keeps people entertained,” said Pinky.

The sister duo has been performing in Mumbai for more than 17 years. So, they have been through the changes that this event has taken over the years. Sharing the same Pinky said, “The Dandiya events in modern times have become more organised as compared to the older times. There is limited time to perform, which was not the case in past.”
Navratri became a part of Pinky and Preeti’s life in early childhood and it’s not just about the celebration, but also devotion to them. The sisters fast for all nine days of the season, a ritual that most Durga devotees follow during Navratri.
Early this week the sisters were sparkling their magic in Bahrain, where they performed at an event called Dandiya Mela 2017.
The duo has lent their voice to some superhit movies like Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, Chalte Chalte etc, and also sung for many famous shows of Indian television which include Balaji Telefilms’s Koi Apna Sa, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Ghar Ki Lakshmi Be?iyaan.
