MUMBAI: Fast growing independent artistes portal Myband has completed one year, and to celebrate its first year anniversary, Myband is running an online music competition called ‘MyBand MyMusic’ .
On achieving the core objective of the portal in this one year, mainly promoting non-mainstream and non-Bollywood music while encouraging young talents, music groups and bands, MyBand CEO Debashis Dey says, We are constantly working on certain program to engage the huge number of Band and Artist members of our site and this online contest is one such effort.” The portal, in a span of one year has grown to over 5000 users.
The criteria for participating in this online contest is primarily having an artist account on MyBand portal. The rule is simple – upload the original music composition (with lyrics), link it to the Facebook Fan page so that people can comment and listen to the song, and get rating and comments. The song has to come in the Top 10 position in MyBand Charts Page within 15 April, 2010.

The Winner for top most position will get cash prize, besides getting featured position on MyBand Home Page for a month and a chance to perform at any location. Second and third prize winner are also entitled to get cash prize and featured position on Myband Music chart for a month. The positions from 4- 10 will get complimentary gifts.
Final result of this contest will be also be announced on 16 April 2010.
