MUMBAI: Musicians have mastered the art of churning out some of the most amazing melodies, which is an obvious reason to their fame. But have you ever wondered what their professions would be had they not been making music or not been singing?
Radioandmusic.com, spoke to a few singers and musicians who spilled the beans on the alternate careers they would opt for.
Jeet Gannguli, composer of ‘Chahu Main Ya Na’ would have been a footballer had he not been into music. “My maternal grandfather was a very famous sports journalist in Kolkata and I had been practicing football at the famous club, Mohan Bagan. So had I not been composing music, I would have been a footballer,” he said.

Very few people know that Arko Pravo Mukherjee, composer of ‘Aaj Phir Tumpe’, from ‘Hate Story 2’ is a doctor. “It is only because of my love for music, I became a composer. Had I not been into music I would have been a neurosurgeon,” elaborated Mukherjee.
Mohammed Irfan, the ‘Phir Mohabbat’ famed singer has studied telecom engineering before pursuing his career in music. “Since I have studied Telecom Engineering, I would be an engineer if not a singer,” said ‘Banjaara’ singer.
Apart from her music, the 20 year old, Aishwarya Majumdar, loves history so she would pursue her dreams of becoming a historian or an archeologist. “I am in love with history, ruins and things related to our ancient culture,” she said.
Sachin Sanghvi, of the Sachin Jigar duo said that he is in love with fashion and would not mind being related to it in any way. “Also I like photography, so if not music my interest would be into either fashion or photography,” he said.
Armaan Malik, the ‘Jai Ho’ famed singer believes that he cannot think of any other profession other than music, due to the family background he hails from. “If I had to do something different, then it has to be anything related to the hospitality management,” said the nephew of the famous music composer, Anu Malik.
