MUMBAI: A galaxy of the country’s renowned classical artists will perform at the Delhi Classical Festival, scheduled to commence on 1 October.
The five-day music festival, part of Delhi Celebrates, will see performances by legends like 105-year-old Ustad Abdul Rashid Khan, Pt Jasraj, Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ustad Shujjat Khan, Pt Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, Ustad Imrat Khan, Pt Rajan and Pt Daya Shankar.
“Traditionally Music Festivals of yesteryears have always started with Dhrupad or the Been, the oldest and most serious forms of classical music. We have kept that tradition,” Punjabi Academy vice chairperson Anita Singh told an agency.
Delhi CM, Sheila Dikshit will inaugurate the festival at Kamani Auditorium.
