Mumbai: The music launch of Mani Ratnam`s Hindi film “Guru” set a new trend in Bollywood with superstar Amitabh Bachchan hosting the event here Sunday (5 November).
The Big B calls upon the lead actor Abhishek Bachchan, actress Aishwarya Rai, music composer A.R. Rehman and lyricist Gulzar on the stage.
According to media reports, As the host, Bachchan quizzes the above individual the reason behind accepting the movie project “Guru”.
Bachchan promptly responded that his immediate reaction was `Thank god he (Mani Ratnam) called up again`. Guru would be second project with Ratnam after “Yuva”. Rai who plays a roll of Abhishek`s wife responds to Big B question, `I am his emotional strength, his moral support, his everything which a wife does`. Big B question Rehman and Gulzar, “what came first, the music or the lyrics?”. Gulzar response, “We both worked together.”
It is interesting to know that the three Ratnam, Rehman and Gulzar are working together after 8 long years. This movie is based on late Dhirubhai Ambani`s life. It also see`s Mallika Sherawat playing a cameo.
