MUMBAI: After rocking the Delhi circuit, international dancehall/ reggae artist Sean Paul brought the house down with his string of hits that had the city’s 2,000 plus fans joining in at the Andheri Sports Complex.
The Jamaican Grammy award winner, Paul who was on his maiden tour of India, didn’t keep the crowd waiting and got straight into the groove. Dressed in black and accompanied by two DJs and two dancers, Paul rolled out chartbusters like ‘Temperature’, ‘Never Gonna be the Same’, ‘Give it Up to Me,’ ‘I’m Still in Love with You’ amongst others. The musical sets characterized by typical dancehall rhythmic beats, thumping bass lines and sensual lyrics left his fans with a pounding heartbeat on a hot and humid night.
Swapping the whooping rhythmic beats with the soothing melody, Paul changed the pace by incorporating Bob Marley’s tunes and lyrics of classic ‘No Woman No Cry’ that got the audiences to sing along.
The night which was tinted in the musical notes was too good to last, but like every good thing has to come to an end, the show winded up at 10 pm leaving the city’s fans chanting for more.
