MUMBAI: After several popular youth-based reality shows, MTV India is introducing musical shows to pump up and regain its music quotient. Along with Coke Studio @ MTV the channel has announced a music video show MTV Roots.
The show will feature music videos of South-Asian region bands across the world and local Indian artist.
Commenting on the development MTV India channel head Aditya Swamy said, MTV Roots is a half an hour weekly-show which will play videos of local Indian artistes and South-Asian region bands. MTV is providing an opportunity for artistes who are big in the local gig circuit and on YouTube, but haven’t got mainstream platform.”
