MUMBAI: Madhya Pradesh Government will set up more than â€?100 tribal community’ radio stations in tribal areas across the state. The tribal community radio project is being implemented by the department through a special wing known as â€?Vanya.’
The first nine community radio stations will be made functional in districts including Dindori, Balaghat, Khandwa, Betul, Dhar, Jhabua, Guna, Sheopur and Chhindwara. The infrastructure for some of the stations like Khandwa, Betul, Dhar and Sheopur has already been constructed, states PTI.

Madhya Pradesh is home for more than 46 tribal communities and they constitute about 21 per cent of the state’s population. In 2010, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inauguarted the first tribal community radio for Bhili tribe of Bhabhara in Alirajpur district of the state.
