New Delhi: Mobiesta, the city-specific leisure guide service for mobile phone users, which was available only in Delhi for a year and a half now, moved early November to three more cities – Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Amongst the new set of mobile applications entrants in the market, Mobiesta has been bringing out its mobile fun guide on all available Mobile platforms like Android, Blackberry, Symbian Qt, JAVA/J2ME and iPhone.
A company executive told RadioAndMusic.com that as of now, there are over 3000 downloads of the service every day.
Mobiesta, which describes itself as a â€?mobile fun guide’, is a service that helps people make a choice, ruling out the dependence on newspapers, computers or city guide books by sending subscribers relevant information on their mobile phones,… Vishal Gaba, Managing Director – Mobiesta, told RadioAndMusic.com. Mobiesta gets a subscriber details of the latest happenings and events in a city. It includes information on 9 categories: shopping fiesta, food fiesta, musical fiesta, multiplexes, malls, health and beauty, exhibition and fairs, stage, theatre and plays and amusement parks. A user can also view the event listing chronologically, on a calendar. SMS integration helps users can send event details to phone book contacts; each entry has a contact number listing where one can make a call directly from the application.
Mobiesta is available for download from Virtual App Stores accessible through mobile phones It covers the Android Market for Android phones (Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Wildfire, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10); the Blackberry App World (allowing transfer from computer to mobile); the Ovi Store for Nokia’s JAVA / J2ME and Symbian Qt-based phones, and the Apple App Store for iPhones.
