Bangalore: Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM (Mirchi) won the gold award for its own creation, the `Best Radio Spot – Kannada` category ad at the `Big Bang 2007` awards by the Advertisement Club, Bangalore (Ad`Club). In the same category, Rediffusion DYR`s `Airtel Recharge` radio ad won the bronze, as well as shared a silver for its `Airtel Bundling offer` and `Airtel-Voice SMS`. For the Best Public Service ad on Radio category, Mirchi shared the bronze for its `Follow lane discipline` ad created for it by Mudra Communications (Mudra) with Rediffusion DYR`s ad for `Ihear foundation.` Mirchi also bagged the silver in the same category for its Mudra created ad on `Urinating in Public`. The gold was won by Rediffusion DYR`s ad for Earth Tree. In the Best Radio Spot -English category, Rediffusion DYR made a clean sweep with two bronzes for it`s `Zydus Cadilla` and `MIRC Electronics` ads, two silvers for its `Coconut Grove` and `PVR Cinemas` ads and a gold its `Pradhan Herbal Company ad.
The bronze in the `Best Creative use of Radio` was bagged by Rediffusion DYR`s ad for `PVR cinemas`. The silver and the gold were awarded to Mudra created ads for `United Spirits` and `TTK Prestige Fathers Day`. Among this years sponsors of the awards event were the Times Groups `Bangalore Mirror as main sponsors, while Zee Kannada and Big 92.7FM were the co-sponsors along with others. Among the two MC`s for the ceremony was Big 92.7 FM`s RJ Kiran Sridhar.
