Mirchi to mark I Day with bands on ‘Aazaadee special show’

MUMBAI: As a part of its Independence Day celebrations, Radio Mirchi will feature four bands from four different states of the country as a part of its on-air show â€?Band Banaao Jeeturaaj Ko Sunaao’ 

The â€?Aazaadee special show’ which will air on 15 August 9 pm onwards will have four musicians play music not from the stereotypical musical instruments, but from unconventional sources like table, chairs or may be even utensils 

The show will feature Dipesh Varma and his band from Indore, Madhya Pradesh who will be crooning in Maalwi language. The band can create sound from mouth and vocal chords and from legs and hands. It also plays Indian percussion instruments such as Duff, Ghungroo, Bagal bacha, Dimdi  

Lalit Rawat from Himachal Pradesh will be the next artiste to be featured on the show. He will belt out the vocals in Gadhwaali language. He also plays African instruments such as Djambe, wood block.

Arun Solanki from Bharooch, Gujarat plays drum instruments such as Timbali, Snare, Kick, Tamborin, Toms and croons in Gujarati  

Khwaab Haria also from Goinj, Gujarat would be singing in Kaathyaawaadee and he would be using plays table, chairs and buckets to produce music 

â€?Band Banaao Jeeturaaj Ko Sunaao’ is a band hunt show which is interspersed with â€?Klub Mirchi’ that hits the airwaves every Saturday from nine in the evening. Selected winners will get a chance to air their song on the station.
