Bangalore: Radio Mirchi has launched an activity that will give its listeners a shot at RJ-ing. All they need do is tune in to the station and register for auditions, which are taking place at Mirchi studios on Tuesdays, Thursday, and Saturdays between 12 and 3 pm. Those selected get an opportunity to host a show on Sundays. Every week a different listener is selected to host the show.
This for the common man who wants to be a Radio Jock, but does not have time and means to do it,.. Mirchi Bangalore Programming Head Divya told RadioAndMusic.com. If selected, we’ll put him or her on air on Sundays for 4 hours….
The station is as yet undecided about the tenure of the initiative. It all depends upon the quality and the number of the people who come in for auditioning. So far, since we have started the promos on air this week, around 50 people have auditioned, but all of them want to do the show in English. We are a Kannada station and want the jock to use Kannada predominantly,… reveals Divya.
The station has not yet roped in an anchor sponsor for the show.
