Michael Jackson’s former manager Frank Dileo passes away

MUMBAI: Music industry executive Frank Dileo, who managed Michael Jackson’s career passed away at the age of 63 on Wednesday 24 August in Ohio, US.

The cause of death hasn’t been confirmed, but Dileo was suffering from heart surgery complications from longtime.

Frank Dileo managed Michael Jackson’s career after his record-breaking release of 1984’s â€?Thriller’. He served as executive producer for Jackson’s movie â€?Moonwalker’ and was instrumental in negotiating the pop star’s commercial deal with Pepsi. They departed professionally in 1989, but Dileo was reported to be back as Jackson’s manager from 2009 till his final days.

Prior to his work with Jackson, Dileo was also an executive with Epic Records in 1979. He started promoting albums, but quickly moved up the ranks at Epic Records, promoting artistes like â€?The Clash’ and â€?Cyndi Lauper’.
