MUMBAI: Headlining sets of various concerts and festivals for over decades, Metallica has capped the stellar year by initiating their own music festival â€?Orion Music and More.’ The two-day fest is scheduled to take place on 23-24 June at Bader Field in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The metal prodigies for the first time will perform their classic albums, ‘Ride the Lightning’ of 1984 and ‘Metallica’ aka ‘the Black Album’ of 1991 in North America.
The heavy metal band has described the fest as an annual music, arts and lifestyle gathering that will feature multiple stages with the line-up of various international bands. The year’s line-up will feature sets from renowned bands including Arctic Monkeys, Avenged Sevenfold, Modest Mouse, the Gaslight Anthem, Cage the Elephant, F—ed Up, Best Coast, Hot Snakes, Titus Andronicus, Gary Clark Jr., Lucero, Roky Erickson, the Black Angels, the Sword and Liturgy. More bands will be announced in the coming weeks.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said, “We’ve had the idea of doing our own lifestyle festival with lots of diverse music, fun and games for years. Finally this year all the practical ducks lined up in a row. After the most incredible celebration of our 30th anniversary at the Fillmore in San Francisco, CA, bringing the spirit of that week, to a festival setting is so exciting that we can hardly contain ourselves.”
The event will be staged by C3 Presents, the Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits festivals. The ticket will be available on the official site of Orion Music and More.
