MUMBAI: Singer composer duo, Meet Brothers, who recently launched their own music company, have pulled out stakes from Radio Chaska 95 FM after a financial fallout with the GM and director of the station, Tarun Goyal.
While sources say that the fallout was a result of financial and inter-personal rivalry between the station head and the brothers, the Meet brothers, who aver that as partners in the venture, “we were not satisfied with the state of affairs. This fallout is a blessing in disguise for us as we could go ahead and open our own music company.” Harmeet Singh adds,”I have realised now that FM stations do not have a future in small towns.”
The brothers-in-arms have worked in many television serials together and are currently in Mumbai to promote new artistes under their new label, Meet Bros Co.
However, Gwalior Farms promoter Tarun Goyal, who floated the venture, insists that the Meet brothers were never partners in the venture and had not made any investments in the station. “The programming was taken care of by them and they were regular employess of our radio station.” About the fallout, Goyal says, “In any kind of organisation, you first have to think in the line of interest of the organisation and then about the interest of the employees. Else, you have to take decisions which will help the organisation to grow and not fall, that’s exactly what I did.”

Goyal started Chaska, Gwalior’s first private FM radio station in July 2007 after returning from Australia and realising the gap in the entertainment sector in his hometown. The station launched with the tag line Bindas Bajao, and is targeted at an age group of 18- 35 years. The station, apart from having a local flavour in its menu, offers a lineup of spiritual, children’s, women’s shows and breakfast shows. The station sports a mixture of retro and contemporary music.
The station has joined hands with ENIL which offers sales support, while the station has also secured programming from the BBC.
