MUMBAI: Almost ten months after it was first speculated, Martin Garrix finally revealed his new collaborative single with Ed Sheeran at the Ultra Music Festival. The track, titled ‘Rewind Repeat It’ showcases a milder sound from Garrix and features Sheeran’s vocals.
The track, as successful as it is speculated to become, was in fact a challenge for Garrix. He said that he lacked experience working with vocals as poppy as Sheeran’s. “I learnt how to work more with a poppy vocal, a different kind of vocal. I, as a house artist, am not really used to a vocal like what he gave to me. It was very challenging but I am super excited for this record,” said Garrix in an interview with FaceCulture.

He further added, “I met him in Los Angeles and we started hanging out. Then, I sent him a core progression, not a track, but just a core progression with synths and he came back with an amazing topline on it. I am really excited about the track.”
The fact that the track would release in March was first reported by Radioandmusic.com when Garrix was in Mumbai last November. “It was a lot of fun working with Ed on the collaboration. It was interesting. I have added my style of music to the track and he has added his. It is a really good track and I am excited to see what it does,” Garrix told Radioandmusic.com.
Sheeran recently made the news when he was revealed to be the co-composer for TV chef Jamie Oliver’s upcoming anthem for ‘Food Revolution Day’. The ‘Thinking Out Loud’ singer will be working alongside former Beatles member Sir Paul McCartney to add music to Oliver’s words.
